Free Horse Sharer Agreement Template (UK, 2026)
A free UK horse sharer agreement template — set riding days, weekly costs, insurance and notice for a part loan / share arrangement.
Sharer vs full loan
A sharer agreement (sometimes called a part loan) is lighter than a full loan. The horse stays at the owner's yard; the sharer rides on agreed days and pays an agreed share of costs. It's the most popular way for UK riders with a job to get regular saddle time without full-time responsibility.
Because the horse doesn't move and the sharer isn't the primary carer, sharer agreements are shorter than full-loan contracts — but you still want the essentials in writing: which days, how much, who pays if the horse is off work, and how much notice.
How to use this template
- Agree the weekly rhythm on paper — vague "we'll work it out" arrangements are where sharer relationships break down.
- Include a trial period (2–4 weeks) so either side can walk away cleanly if it isn't a fit.
- Both parties sign, date and keep a copy.
